Aesculus flava, commonly known as Yellow Buckeye, is a medium-sized deciduous tree native to eastern regions of North America. Typically reaching heights of 30 to 40 feet, it features a broad, rounded canopy that provides ample shade. The tree's leaves are compound, usually consisting of five shiny, green leaflets that create a lush appearance throughout the growing season. In the spring and early summer, Yellow Buckeye displays clusters of bright yellow flowers that are both attractive and serve to attract various pollinators. After the flowering period, the tree produces distinctive spiky seed capsules containing the characteristic buckeye seeds. Yellow Buckeye thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is commonly found in wooded areas, along streams, and in natural landscapes. Its attractive foliage and vibrant flowers make it a valuable addition to parks and gardens, where it contributes both beauty and ecological benefits.
